Prof. Chunli Bai, President of ANSO and CAS, visited Spain, UK and Russia from 11 to 20 July 2019 at the invitation of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), the University of Exeter, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and other institutions. During the visit, Prof. Bai introduced ANSO, its vision and activities to the officials and scientists he met at these institutions and discussed the research collaboration and young scientists training under the ANSO framework such as S&T cooperation and talents exchange. He extended invitations to these organizations to join the ANSO community to share the resources and opportunities and to combat regional and global challenges together.
His invitation got positive feedbacks from a number of top level organizations such as El Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, also known as Spanish National Research Council), the University of Exeter and the University of Warwick. In Russia, Prof. Bai met with Prof. Alexander Mikhaylovich Sergeev, President of RAS and Vice President of ANSO. Both had a good discussion on the 2nd ANSO General Assembly in Moscow in 2020 and issues related to further strengthening of the collaboration between CAS and RAS under ANSO framework.
