ANSO & IG-SBC Global Council’s Meeting Held in Beijing

On 3 July, 2024, Prof. BAI Chunli, Founding President of ANSO, met with a high-level delegation from Innovate Global StartupBootCamp (IG-SBC) Global Council at the headquarters of Sugon in Beijing. The meeting was a follow-up of the first meeting between ANSO and IG-SBC in Dubai last September. It aims to strengthen cooperation in internationalization of technology innovation between IG-SBC and the Belt and Road Industry Alliance (one of the international networks under ANSO framework).

The meeting commenced with the opening addresses by Prof. BAI Chunli and Mr. Adnan Sawadi, Vice Chairman of IG-SBC Global Council. Mr. ZHANG Shizhuan, Deputy Executive Director of the ANSO Secretariat, chaired the meeting.

Prof. BAI expressed his warm welcome to the delegation. He stressed the role of science and technology innovation in driving economic growth and sustainable development, and expected the two sides to enhance cooperation for high-quality development of the Belt & Road regions.

Mr. Adnan Sawadi agreed that cooperation is key to advancing technology innovation globally. He was keen to enhance cooperation with ANSO and to provide both capital and networking support for Chinese science and technology to go global, especially to countries in the Middle East.

Discussions focused on interesting topics such as "Innovation Funds" and "Startups Going Global", and on areas of science and technology including big data, artificial intelligence, new energy and so on. Representatives from eight Chinese innovative enterprises introduced their technology products and plans for going international. Delegates from the IG-SBC Global Council expressed a strong interest in cooperation. Both sides agreed to follow up the discussions.
