COVID-19 Advisory Team to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) recently published “Understanding COVID-19”. Their study presents the current state of knowledge about SARS-CoV-2 virus, COVID-19 disease and its medical, psychological, economic and social impacts, especially in Polish context. In this document provides forecasts on COVID-19 epidemic for the upcoming winter season in Poland, as well as recommendations for citizens and public institutions.

The study includes information about the disease and its treatment, phases of pandemic development and its implications for human health. The study provides verified information on prevention and presents current works on the development of the coronavirus vaccines. Among other topics covered by the report the COVID-19 Advisory Team presents scenarios for the COVID-19 epidemic in the fall and winter season 2020 in Poland.
