ANSO Botanical Gardens Union (ANSO-BGU(A)) is established in common cause to intensify international scientific and technological cooperation in the form of ex-situ conservation network covering the hotspots, especially in southeast Asia. Based on the long-term cooperative relations between Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, CAS (XTBG) and some universities, government departments and research institutes in tropical Asian countries, ANSO BGU (A) will focuses on building the branded talent training courses, the vibrant platform for communication and exchanges, and advisory services among botanical gardens, as well as joint scientific expedition.
As the branded training course sponsored by Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) and Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden （XTBG）, Advanced Fieldcourse in Ecology and Conservation – XTBG (AFEC-X) 2021 will held from 26 October to 6 December in XTBG. This course has run by XTBG for 12 years since 2009. The course is taught by an international team of resource staff, all of whom are experts in their discipline, and participants are commonly young researchers, whose studies focus on the ecology and conservation of biodiversity the tropical Asia-Pacific region. The course thus also provides a valuable opportunity for young scientists to broaden their horizons and network with a diverse group colleagues from across the region.
