ANSO lnternational Network

A series of ANSO International Network are being established to encourage joint activities through multi-lateral cooperation by focusing on special issues related to regional and global environmental change, green development, human wellbeing and sustainable socio-economic development.

The 9th Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences & The 21st ABC Symposium Held in Beijing

The 9th Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences & the 21st Asian Bioinformatics Consortium (ABC) Symposium was successfully held in Beijing, China from October 16th to 18th, 2024. The forum was hosted by Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIG, CAS) / China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB), undertaken by the National Genomics Data Center (NGDC) and the Global Biodiversity and Health Big Data Alliance (BHBD), and supported by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO). A total of 36 invited speakers from 8 countries including China, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, UK, USA and Uzbekistan gave presentations, with over 200 researchers and students participated in the forum. Mr. ZHANG Shizhuan, Deputy Executive Director of ANSO Secretariat, attended the conference.

ANSO International Network-ETIA Visited Sri Lanka

From July 2 to 10, the delegation led by Prof. YANG Min, Head of ANSO International Network of Environmental Technology and Industry Alliance (ETIA), Director of National Engineering Research Center of Industrial Wastewater Detoxication and Resource Recovery, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited Sri Lanka and conducted in-depth exchanges with the Ministry of Water Supply, Ministry of Health, Central Northern Provincial Council, Board of Investment, National Water Supply and Drainage Board and other institutions in Sri Lanka on a series of topics of rural drinking water safety, cause study of Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology (CKDu), and the construction of ecological industrial parks, to further promote the China-Sri Lanka scientific and technological cooperation with a focused and clear direction.

ANSO-World Mollisols Association held the International Workshop on Mollisols Erosion and Degradation in Harbin

From July 20 to 25, 2024, the ANSO World Mollisols Association (ANSO-WMA) and the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly held the International Workshop on Mollisols Erosion and Degradation, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province, the Science and Technology Association of Heilongjiang Province, and the Science and Technology Bureau of Harbin City. The theme of this workshop was "Research Progress on Mollisols Erosion and Degradation, Mollisols Degradation Prevention and Control, and New Technologies for Arable Land Conservation." More than 200 experts and scholars from China, Australia, the United States, Russia, Argentina, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Japan engaged in the field of mollisol conservation and utilization participated in the workshop.

International Workshop on Environmental Dimension of Antimicrobial Resistance under One Health was Successfully Held

The International Workshop on Environmental Dimension of Antimicrobial Resistance (EDAR) under One Health, was successfully held from 26th to 28th Sep, 2023. More than 40 scientists from over ten countries along the Belt and Road, including Poland, Slovenia, Pakistan, Thailand, Iran, Denmark, United Kingdom, Singapore, Switzerland, and Australia gathered at the Ningbo Academic Center to discuss the environmental effects, risk assessment, and other biosafety issues related to antibiotic resistance within the framework of One Health.

First ATES Workshop on "Silk Road Networks and Towns" Held in Xining

The Association for Trans-Eurasia Exchange and Silk Road Civilizations Development (ATES) held its first workshop on "Silk Road Networks and Towns" on 17 June, 2023 in Xining, Qinghai. The workshop was co-hosted by ATES, Lanzhou University, and Qinghai Normal University, and co-organized by the Academy of Plateau Science and Sustainability (APSS) of Qinghai Normal University, the School of History and Culture of Lanzhou University, and the School of History of Qinghai Normal University. The meeting was attended by over 30 scientists and historians from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (ITP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources/CAS, Lanzhou University, Shaanxi Normal University, Xinjiang University, Qinghai Normal University, Qinghai Nationalities University, Gansu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Gansu Provincial Library, and others.
